Yep, I know what you mean, those little ladies will fly 100's of miles to bite me. Dryer sheets did not work for me, even tried rubbing them on my skin. Those little "gizmos" did not work for me either, maybe it was the breeze as mentioned. Covering up does not work either, they bite me thru my clothes. Tried the Garlic supplements, just made me smell like Garlic but the mosquitos do not stay away. Only thing works for me is spray. Don't like it but have to use it.

Yard-tested the fabric sheets doing yardwork with one of the skeeter magnet daughters. Had strips in my socks and under my hat, rubbed it on my legs. I had 3 bites on the legs in 10 minutes, daughter looks down and theres 6 lined up on her leg like a McDonald's drive thru. She got bit 10x in 15 minutes, so I ran and got the spray...Downey 'Simple Pleasures' Orchid doesn't work for us.
RedTopLady, is the ThermaCell is worth a try? Others say it's amazing and you said maybe it was too breezy when you tried it?

I have a toddler at home and when we are going to be outdoors i will rub her skin down with dryer sheets and stick them in her pocket. Seems to work pretty good.

I don't know where you live but when I'm out and about in my part of the country, I find me some of these plants (this is what they look like in bloom). It's called bee balm or horse mint. Grab a hand full and mash'em up and rub them on your arms, neck etc. It works lots better than Off (for me) and doesn't leave the deet smell [censored] all over you. The native americans used it for years so I thought I'd give it a try. It works great. Again, here it is in bloom. It's all over the place along the sides of the road in the hill country.

Thx jasonp, we're between Katy & Sealy.
Do you mash the whole plant?
Does it make you itch? I'll start looking around for some.

Some say use the regular Listerine mouth wash and dab in on you.
