The wife and I went out to Lewisville around 10 AM to try and fish (me) and get some sun(my wife.) Launched in Little elm and headed for Deadman's point. There were about 15 boats there, so we headed to the Lake Dallas dam. Found a few fish on the humps there and then headed back to Deadman's before finally getting out of there before the lake got crazy. All in all, I caught a few fish and had a blast. I have just started chasing whites and hybrids and wanted to get on the lake to find some spots. Here are 2 questions....
1. Where can I find a map that will outline the humps in the lake? The map I use doesn't do a great job of that and I have had a hard time finding those places that hold fish.
2. Is the best way to learn fishing techniques for hybrids to fish with a guide? I want to know what i am doing when i go out. I have always fished for largemouth and am comfortable with their patterns year round. This is new to me and I want to be good at it. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Most here will tell you, a guide is always a great option, to give you a good foundation, but I, like you, am a bass fisherman at heart, that in the last couple years, have taken a liking to chasing the whites and hybrids. It's hard not to, if you fish LL. For me, it was all about having a good graph, and knowing of a few different spots around the lake. Deadmans, twin poles, gravel pits etc...

You can buy decent topographic maps at places like Academy, Bass Pro & Cabelas. Having one of those will help you immensely ... of course, a Navionics chip in your fishfinder/GPS is even better!
As to learning ... yeah, the shortest learning curve is to hire a guide. Look up Don The Angler on here - he'll put you on hybrids consistently & you'll learn alot.
