Hotfoot? I had a brand new boat and was fishing a tourney and it would not get on plane. Ended up idleing all day and idled back to the weigh in. After the weigh in for some reason I looked down at the Hotfoot and realized the bolt that held the cable to the side of the Hotfoot was loose not alowing it to give the motor full throttle when the pedal was fully depressed (the outer sheath was slipping). I tightened up the bolt and walah!!!

I haven't paid attention to RPMs... I have the same motor but shorter boat...

Mine got on plane better before sea foam... I need to replace the plugs and fuel filter and I should be good to go...

Did you run anything different in the fuel?

sprint, sounds like you had the same problem I had. I changed spark plugs, and that didn't work. checked the linkage on carbs to make sure all open up, that was good. took to mechanic, ended up changing the switchbox (powerpack) that wasn't it.finally looked at spark plug wires, and had cracks in it, also had a bad coil. I have a merc 80jet (115hp powerhead)

Save time and money change spark plugs and inspect wires closely. I had to bend the wires to see the cracks.
