Purple firetail worm, hands down. Thought it was the best bass bait ever, for about the first 10 years I fished.

Purple fire-tail was a close second for me behind the H&H

Seeing as most of my fishing when i first started for bass was done at night...I'd say a black Jitter bug...Followed by a black 3/8 spinner bait with a big single colorado blade.

Pumpkinseed power worms back in the early 90's.... Texas rigged. Also grape firetail riverside air worms and black / blue air lizards.... Man those were the days!
