Some of us are "showing our age" by the baits we first fished!!!
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Fishing rod in one hand - 10# LMB lipped in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

That little black and silver Rapala minnow or a beatle spin. I tried to throw that Rapala in a creek this winter and realized I must have been fishing 4 - 6lb test tops back then or my memory of casting it is only through the eyes of a kid.

Rebel minnow stickbait ... silver black back. Then Creme worms. Still have confidence in these baits.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

My Dad and I used to fish a little lake in Idaho with Mepps Aglias (black & red). Caught looks of trout on those then used them to catch bass later. They will catch anything.
More lately a chartrouse Fat Albert Grub weightless.
