The car was working fine last night....today I tried to pull out of the garage and it wont reverse or drive. Any thoughts on what it might be????....The tranny has like 45k on it

a few years back my daughter had a 96 bronco. The fuse was out of the brake light. With the fuse blown it would not come out of park. We had a trailer plugged into it. The brake light wire was bare, got against the bumper blew the fuse.

i checked....i dont have a parking brake fuse..... what else could it be???

Have you checked the Transmission fluid!

electronic shift solenoid is most probably the cause of your problem,your vehicle has two of these that close are apply depending on shifter position,if one goes out it is like neutral all the time.

Hmm it could be what stan said or shift cable? That's what happened to my moms van the shifter was loose and couldn't shift.

Check the brake light switch that is mounted on the brake pedal arm for broken wiring, broken switch, or out of adjustment. The switch will prevent the shifter from operation.

look on the under side of the colun look for where the shift cable attatches to the colum, should be 2 torx head screws, if u look in the floor board u will prob. find 1 or both of the screws, very common prob,

I have a 1990 camry that is doing the same thing I check the fluid it is a brownish color I am planing on changing it this weekend, is this my problem or could it be something else
