I recently have caught quite a few white bass while crappie fishing, and I really like the frequency of bite and the fight of white bass.

I am looking for general suggestions on getting them; Lake Tyler has in the past few years gotten quite a few white bass and it is right around the corner, a great place for a 3 hour trip.

I am interested in hearing specific techniques that have worked for you. I always heard to troll around with small silver rattle traps, but never did get the specifics about depth, line, or landmarks to look for.

Any input would be appreciated

White bass move around in schools. Get a map of the lake and look for humps and slopes around the lake. White bass like to chase shad into the shallows, or just chase them. IF you have some good electronics, you can find schools feeding on baitballs. Sometimes in the early morning and late evening you can catch them boiling on the surface. You can look at my website to see the baits I use and some screen shots of fish schools. I prefer Rat-L-Traps for on the surface and TNT jigs for the deeper fish.
