Plastic worm for me. I can remember when I was a kid with my Zebco 33, watching those coils of line waiting on them to move and I would set the hook. Its funny that I was more of a line watcher as a kid than I am now.Its still my favorite bait.

When Grapevine first opened, I caught my first bass on a lure. It was a Lucky 13, yellow frog pattern. I used it for the next 2 years and don't remember catching anything but sand bass. When Fork first opened, I found out about zaraspooks. We caught close to 100 bass a day on them for first couple of years. I kept one tied on and caught fish on it for next 10 years or so. I'll probally throw one in the morning.

My favorite and the one i'm most confident with would have to be a (Chartreuse Zman 1/2oz Chatter Bait) Caught my first 9lb Bass off this lure popping it off a stump then using it like a jig popping it off the bottom. I have only produced 3lbs+ off this lure thus far.

blue gill - beatle spin and yellow shister - not sure how to spell it but it was an in-line spinner and would catch an occational bass
bass- a yellow BPS 2 inch grub on a lead head - then came the RAPALA FLOATING MINNOW siver w/black back cast out on a diawa spincast bought at Krogers - yes Krogers let it float and just twich it on the top - mostly at night
man, it did seem so much easier back then - gravel pits in Terre Haute, IN - what an awesome childhood

when i was just a young pup it was either a beetle spin, road runner, or black torpedo. I would buy these at the local hardware store in town. Man, those were the days!!!

If I remember right my dad always bought me these little pink lizards when I was 3 or 4 that I threw all the time. But first bait im sure I had confidence in was either a watermelon jig or a bubblegum swirl senko.
