Went to somerville Wed evening fished at yeuga creek park caught a few wading off the banks there and a few by the rocks next to the ramp. I normally do more reading than writing but i havent seen much about somerville, so i am heading out there this weekend with a kayak and was wondering were the whites have been spotted, or maybe some good bedding areas for LMB. Also, what are some good creeks to go explore and maybe find some crappie.

my roommate(eight on TFF) and I went there Wednesday evening as well. the waves were pretty good when we got there around 4:00 or so. we went over by the damn and trolled against the wind and then drifted back along the damn with the wind. used a crank bait about two feet above a white curly tailed jig for trolling and a slab tied about two feet behind a curly tail jig for the drifting. we caught four white bass all while trolling. i caught the smallest at 11" and the other three were between 14" and 16". Eight's crank bait was a deeper diver then mine and i attribute this to the difference in size and numbers. only caught one fish while drifting. it was a 14 inch catfish that was extremely slender. all five fish were caught on the curly tails.

Look carefully at some of those 8 to 10 inch "whites". The last couple of trips I made out there, I'm pretty sure I was catching some small Hybrids with the white bass. I just look for broken stripes when they are that small.

Went out there today in the kayak, caught several small whites.... possibly hybrids (didnt look)... and one nice 5 lb. hybrid that pulled me around for a while in my kayak. Launched from yegua creek park. Goin back tommorrow, probly launching out of Big Creek Park. If ya see a bunch of college guys in kayaks stop by and say hello.
Gig em!

brandon, Bet the yak was fun with all the wind today. It's supposed to lay down tomorrow and I plan to hit Somerville in my yak as well. Let me know how you did.
Which way did you go out of Yegua? I'm still trying to decide between yegua, Big Creek or Birch.

Hey maybe we can get the birds to fly over the trees and then the ski boats can find the floating trees for us when they fly through the birds!!!!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I'd rather be fishing *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

I went east out of yegua creek park, i normally circle the islands, i do alright, normally manage to find a school some where. Man going without sun screen was a bad idea. I can barely move today, hope it gets better soon.
