Mechanic finally got my VIP Deckliner fixed, and I took it out about 6:15 PM to see if all was in order. Decided to check several structures to see if any had concentrations of fish. Started in dam area checking 6 structures and found nothing. Went to A-Frame area and stumbled into a few schooling fish on north edge in 11 ft water. Managed to catch 5 sandies and one legal hybrid before they stopped. They wouldn't touch a #4 Mepps so put on a #2 and caught the hybrid 1st cast. Saw a couple of shad jump and they indeed were very small - about an inch and 1/4.
Left there at 7:40 and cruised on up to Key Ranch - nothing significant there. Finally, went farther north to Key Ranch North and found good concentration. Caught another 8 sandies and a 21 inch hybrid before it got too dark. Shad were bigger here and caught fish on #4 Mepps.

Absolutely! Being on the east side on the lake on open water so we could see these was a key retirement home criterion. I thank God every day for such blessings!!!

I was on Lewisville last week. I had my 5yo daughter with me so we only stayed out a couple hours. Caught 2 nice hybrids on the #4 at the 121 cut. They hit it like a freight train...

I think surface action has dwindled to very early and very late. Best to work structures the rest of the time. Some are holding good concentrations - just keeping looking with graph til you find them.
