Do not leave these sunglasses in your car. It is too hot inside a car "in Texas" for the Nylon frames which causes the frames to warp and glass lenses to spider crack. This has happened to me with 2 different sunglasses in 2 months. I talked to customer service and it takes a month to get back and 100 dollars to fix. I couldnt figure out why I would randomly get in my car and the lenses would be cracked. I guess its what you get for paying over 200 dollars for a pair of sunglasses. I was just letting everyone know and not make the same costly mistake I have.

Were they left on the dash or in direct sunlight thru the window? I actually have 3 pairs of Costas in my truck and have for about 5-6 years now. Never any problems with the frames warping or lenses cracking. I do have issues with the rubber coating coming off the frames (or tearing) where it goes over your ears which is a little irritating. I don't keep them where they get direct sunlight, like on the dash though.

I just had to send a pair of fathoms back yesterday because the rubber stuff on the arms started peeling off and shredding. I may be looking at some different glasses next time.

The glass lenses are cracking from the heat in your car? Are they real glass? If so, that's hard to believe. The melting point of glass is somewhere between 2,700 and 4,200 degrees fahrenheit.

We have glass cookware at home that we put in the oven.

Hmmmm...

Ive had numerous pairs of Costas, one pair hangs on my rearview all the time, and never had any problems.

Ya i have had this happen too the frames bending is what breaks the glass not the heat its self. But the heat is what is warping the frames

I was reading yesterday that Costas have a lifetime warranty. Is this not correct? They still charge you $100 to fix?

I have 2 pair of the brine 580s. The lady told me the reason they are cracking is becuase of the heat in my car is warping the nylon which causes the glass to crack. Now I have 2 pair. Both cracked each with the same lense cracked. Very frusterated. She even told me that they ahve on their website not to leave them in your car. My tahoe is also black which deosnt help. THis sucks. I have now 2 pair of cracked sunglassless. I usually just elave them on my console.

any ideas on what to do? Im getting them replaced but what should i do for the 5 weeks it takes to get them back? I cant afford a 3rd pair after paying 200 dollars for repairs. Anyone know of any good cheap sunglasses. I have bought a few cheap pairs and absolutely cant stand them.
