Bret and I recently kayaked the Trinity from Fort Worth to Dallas and a month or so later we get a call from a guy that says he's with the Dallas Observer....

Very cool!

I see the picture you guys went to take after we got back from fishing that weekend turned out really good! Guess she didn't make you look like D-bags after all.

It was a good trip. I'm about 60% sure I saw a gator gar on the way. I was surprised by a buff that bret said could have gone over 30 and we saw some carp slurping seeds off the surface. It would be good fishing for us rough fishers if there was more access. I'm kinda glad there's not that much access though because it was kinda cool to not see anyone for a few days in the middle of the metroplex.

It was an amazing trip.

I'm working on more info in conjunction with this:

http://thecompletetrinity.org

Yes, that says complete. It will take a while (mostly because I have to work) but I an going to do the entire Trinity River.

More pics form DH's and my 50 mile trip will be posted there as well.

Excellent story and trip!

Loved this thought:
"I'm not sure I even understood I had a home river until today."

We as a culture have lost touch with our sense of Place. No wonder everything is so trashed.
