For what, trophy cats? numbers? channels, blues flatheads?
I'd say for numbers, trophies, blues and channels Tawakoni is the catfish capital of Texas....

Best lake??? hmmm, for what most fish or best accessibility? I mean If "I" was planning a vacation week or such..Id want maybe both boat and bank access good camping set up and yet a reputation for the fish species I want to target. For me that would be 1.Tawakoni 2.Fairfield 3.Livingston er...something like that!

For throphy size blues i'd go as follows
1. Tawakoni 2. Texoma 3. Lewisville
Trophy sized Channels
1. Athens 2. Fork 3. Livingston
Trophy sized Flattys
1. Fork 2. Richland Chambers 3. Tawakoni

I think all the Lakes have Awesome potential, Sam Rayburn has 114,500 acres {the biggest lake in Texas} and I have not heard any reports from there. Joe Pool's my fav. Tight Lines!!!

I know the three worst: Pat Cleburne, Alvarado and Benbrook
U want a REAL challenge??- pick one of the worst lakes and show us how it's done. lol Alvarado and Cleburne suck cuz they're tiny and have little bank access so forget them
Take Benbrook- small but big enough, has alot of DAYTIME bank access but hard to find/catch fish from bank. So us how to do it on a lake like Benbrook.
