Better salinty and pockets of much cooler SaltH20 temps during the low tide phases this weekend held keeper trout over 25".
Silver/RedEye Rockport Rattler jigs fished in the upper 1 - 2 ft. of the water column was the ticket !!!
Some serious explosions by these trout on top of water once they plucked the jig as it suspended itself just below the surface.
My ol' buddy DB_Yakker had a nice 25" + trout he showed off back on the bank after his wade.
My 2nd trout of the day was around 23 - 24" and I got a pic of it during my wade.

Nice work!
The winds have been keeping me off the water, but I see they are not keeping you from catching quality fish.

Yeah - winds have been brutal at times, but the fish still gotta eat.
And ya always can learn something new, we'd been fishing guts on low tide - but the water coming out was warm, brownish and had a fresh taste to it.
Trout were out deep in the green SaltH20 so the wind actually helped get the lures out there to where the trout were.
On the wade back we found a pocket of much cooler water along the bank and trout green so we strung more trout until we had our limits.
Lotta 14 -16 reds running the guts - musta caught 12 rat reds in a row when I first got the feet wet until I changed colors from Plum/Chart. for the 2 - 3' shallow water to Glow/Firetail and started throwing to the deeper water 6 - 8' and watching those trout explode on the jigs in the upper part of the water column.
Those big trout put on a good show !! ... which is almost as good as eating them.
Fed my 84 YO Mother-In-Law who was visting, my wifey's sister, her daughter and boyfriend, my Momand her boyfriend and my freindly family of four.
Good times this weekend bro' ... no matter how hard or which way the wind is blowing !!

I'm gonna have to take some lessons from you man. We fish the same areas, but somehow you always seem to catch your limit.
I may try to hit East flats or Shamrock on Sunday.
Thanks as always for the report.

Hey there sportsman3535, it's been a good year for trout this year - and definitely better than last year. This past winters rains we have sure nourished our drought stricken estuary's.
I don't always go after a limit. We did fish hard that day cuz I hade 10 people that I was gonna feed at the fish fry for my mother-in-law.
Most of the time I'm just fishin' for supper and some peace and serenity that only Mother Nature can serve up. If I just catch 3, 5, 7, it don't matter - I'm gonna have my fun either way.

Hey Trout Scout-
I'm all about just being out there. I used to fish at least twice a week, but with the new job I'm lucky if I ever get to go.
Shoot me a PM sometime and let's go fishing.

I understand the job scene taking time away from fishing. Gotta make the most of it when ya can. I bought my wifey a new Shimano for the summer fishing scene and she's gotta break it in soon !!
