Got to fish with the ole man this morning. Bought time. grin It's been too long. Unfortunately it was very, very windy. Fought the wind most of the day.
Started at 7:30 and searched and searched and searched. Finally found a really good concentration of fish in the Murrell Park area. Stayed there and wacked fish pretty good for quite a while. Fish moved so we did too.
Checked over by the island, trying to get out of the wind, but couldn't find a good concentration of fish. Looked like the wind died down so we went back to Murrell. Found another good group of fish and wacked 'em some more.
Wind hadn't died down. It was a mirage. eeks

So we just stayed and fought the wind and put our 2 man limit in the boat and went home at 1:30. Actually, one minus a 2 man limit because the 'last' one was 10'1/4" and I told dad to throw it back. smile Never could pick up number 50.

Saw some schooling action action but with the wind - did I say it was windy - it wasn't worth waiting on. All of the fish that I filleted had spawned out. woot Now it's time for them to strap on the feed back. Should start their 2 week feeding frenzy pretty soon and then settle in to their summer pattern.

Don't forget, I still run guide trips. Half day - $200 for 2 people. Add a 3rd person for $50. Catch me on my cell (817) 319-1614 or email me at jschiller@prodigy.net

Good luck if you get out.
Oh..all of our fish came on TNT slabs - Dad had the limit gitter in chartreuse and I used a 180.

Wow. It was really windy. bang

So when you started your engine did it smoke a little or a puff of dust come out of the exhaust laugh You know, if you didn't want the wind you could wait and deal with what next weekend will provide..... laugh

Always a good feeling when you can take dad out for alot of catch'n.

Na...it was good.
Actually, I've been fishing lewisville a little in the evenings after I get home from work. So it wasn't the first start of the year.
The first start of the year the only problem I had was a dead battery. Jumped it off and it's been running ever since.

Good news is that I now have 3 - count 'em - 3 spots on Lewisville. Yae me.
If only I had someone willing to meet me around 5:15 and fish until dark that knows Lewisville. grin

Great report Jeff, I started to go out but saw the wind forecast and after my last two outings of fighting the wind and getting the involuntary showers I decided to stay home. bang

Wife and I went out tonight to Lewisville. It was still freaking windy. We went to spot # 3. grin
Caught all of our fish there.

Wife caught her personal best 4 hybrids - 17-1/2", 18-1/4", 18-1/2" and a 22-1/2". We had one of the 18" in the livewell for a few minutes until she changed her mind. But the 22" came home.

Put 47 fish in the livewell plus the hybrid. Just got done cleaning fish. Now have to go back and finish cleaning up after some dinner.

I wish the wind would blow. bang
And if anybody wants to know where the fish were - and we were on a huge group of fish. Stayed in the same area for the 3 hours we were out - I already told ya. It was spot # 3. thumb

That was seriously SO much fun!!! In a close tie with the time we were on Grapevine working the birds and I kid you not, EVERY cast, we had a sandie. This went on for hours. A couple of guys in a boat nearby just watching (in awe)obviously NOT fishing with Humdingers. But today, it was all about the slab.

Will post pictures tomorrow. I broke the net and everything!! grin

Lost an anchor at the Vine yesterday...my own doing. It's pretty funny since I just had my rib muscles heal up from a spring trip on Roberts in 20+ mph winds.

It's rough when your hear your fillings rattle when you cross the lake.

Jeff, I have a few places on Lewisville that you may want to know about. Send me a PM if you're interested.
