I am currently in a 21' Kenner, which I think you have probably seen. The only thing I will say for a fact is that my next boat will not have a shred of carpet in it, which I think is mostly the trend in the new boats these days. I like the kenners and will probably look into them a bit more. without carpet I thought you like the CC envy past you by. tired of mama saying go get ya one

Love my 21 foot Xpress CC with a 200 on the back, big enough to take on whitecaps yet lite enought to easily crappie fish. Had to retrieve a costly lure the other day and pulled it into less then a foot of water with out a problem, had four people in it too. Tows easy, and I'm kinda partial to aluminum boats( I tend to hit sticks at night while duck hunting)

That would solve the "no duck boat" issue I have Sassyman, I'll check those out as well, I like lots of deck space

First, I will say i am bias on this subject. I do sell fiberglass resins. I have been in some of the plants mentioned and will only talk about Blue Wave. I can confidently say that they build a great boat. Their construction is second to none. Not saying others are not good or great, but just saying you won't find many if any built better. If you have questions about their boat, you can call them and they will answer. They build their boats in Seminole, Ok and I am betting if you wanted to see how they build their boats, you could tour their plant. Though spendy, their Pure Bay is unreal and I do believe they are coming out with a shorter version. Anyway, good luck on what you choose and enjoy it.
My wife is always mad at me, so I figured I might as well give her a reason.....I bought a boat.

TB if you make the trip to see the bluewaves built i think you can review their earlier versions and still have one built like them from the old molds. i have an older bluewave and it works for me. mine is a 189 classic. the capped hulls look pretty but they take up alot of fishing room and add weight. larger consoles take away from the interior room as well. a heavy boat rides better but will use more gas. a lighter boat will go shallow, ride rougher, and use less gas. i recently drove a friend's 22 foot bluewave loaded with gear and 3 people. i hate to say it but with a 150 yamaha 4 stroke it was under powered. bigger is great until you go to the gas pump. two of my friends have polar bay boats. royce simmons runs a polar as well. they are very nice boats and can handle some extremely rough water but they are HEAVY. ive had to weld on more than one express aluminum bay boat. they werent very old either. i've welded on a war eagle as well. i havent ever welded on a fiberglass boat. nitro bay boats are actually kenner hulls. either of them are well worth the money. tunnel hulls dont steer well going foward and hardly at all in reverse. they will shoot you up on plane in shallow water though. basscat makes a bay boat called baycat. very nice/not very cheap. i fished out of a guides boat down at baffin bay it was a 23' haynie. very nice. check out this 21 footer. 60 mph in 9" of water. http://www.hayniebayboats.com/21_Z21.shtml

I've researched most CC's and test drove several. By far, the absolute best ride, overall quality construction, including outstanding customer service... Blue Wave is the Rolls Royce equivalent. Mine is the semi-tunnel and floats as if you're on a cloud of silk.
May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won’t!

Best for you isn't necessarily best for me.....
Ask yourself these questions:
1) How many people do I normally have fishing with me? 2) Do I want more casting deck room or cockpit room? 3) Do I need room for a shad tank? 4) Where will I store it? How much room do I have? 5) What will I tow it with? 6) What type of water do I fish the most? Big open water, lots of trees, real shallow(3ft or less), etc. 7) How much and what type of gear am I normally carrying...reference #1 above.
With those questions answered you can narrow down your search to fewer manufacturers, makes, and models.
Once you've narrowed it down you'll find its mainly a price point game from there going from cheap to expensive.
Then, ask yourself what is the best boat for the money that meets my needs.....asking an open ended question is like searching for a pink unicorn...it can be fun, you learn some things along the way, but you know the outcome.
The BEST "Bay Boat" out there relative to ride quality, fit & finish, re-sale, "wow" factor, and speed is without question the Yellowfin 24' Bay Boat. I've been on the water in over 25 different models of "bay boats" and that one is the cream of the crop.......BUT its too expensive to even be put in the same league as some of the others.
