You can freeze whole sandies right?>

I had a great morning on the vine and caught more than I felt like cleaning....

It's ok to freeze the whole bass right? If not, I got about 8 in the freeze to whomever wants em....

Anything but FIRST sucks.....

Did you gut them first? I would not freeze them without gutting them.

Dale, I would not advise freezing them whole or gutted. They will be tough to clean later without a complete thaw. Then you should not re-freeze if you don't use them all at that time.

I would put them in a plastic container and into the fridge overnight if you have to (NOT IN WATER) ....then clean them the next day. They will be fine.

It looks like you have only got about 20 minutes of fileting to do there, with an electric knife. Its a shame to waste them!

I was waiting for someone to say that. I don't think there are any Hybrids in Grapevine.

I think sometime in the 80's was the last time hybrids were stocked in Grapevine. they've been gone for a long time. I sure wish they would stock them there again. There is surely a large enough forage base for them.

I've had good results icing down with 3-4 bags of ice and water and cleaning them within a day if I did not have time immediately, but you have to keep them in icy water before cleaning them. Fillets
covered with water in half-gallon or gallon ziplock bags works good to store in the freezer.

I like to put fish into quart size ziplocks (completely topped off with water) each with just enough filets to make one meal for my family. If we have company, I thaw more bags.

I second the vote for hybrids in Grapevine. If they can stock them in Lake Bardwell why not Grapevine?
