Woke up this morning and watching the news, the meteorologist predicted 20 30 MPH winds. Stuck around the house and finally pulled the boat out and gave a few kicks to the tire. Boat wouldn't start... mad

Batteries low
Bearings dried
5 month old gas

After fiddling around with the boat for 2 hours me and the old man thought, SURELY these are no 20mph winds. We packed up and made the drive with my dad and the GF. 2 hours later we arrived at Holiday and got on the water at 3pm. First cast of the net netted SOOO much shad, I couldn't lift the net!

Made a quick run out to sea and noticed there was only 1 to 2 ft waves and 5 - 10mph winds. smile Hit 23 ft of water and marked PLENTY of fish! Dropped the marker and on the first drop, GF hooks up with a 24 incher. and after a few more drops....

it was ON LIKE DONKY KONG! Non Stop action all evening!

My old man with his infamous "smile"

Hamster1,
It was good to see you yesterday. We had a great day as well. My arms are a bit tired today. Just wanted to say that was a class act on your part to give the boat with the two kids on it the shad you had left. We left right after you and stopped and talked to them to let them in on how and where to drift them. They had no graph so we left our marker for them to have a better idea as to where to be. We would have loved to stay to see the look on those kiddos faces when they laid into one of those hybrids, but with a two hour drive ahead we hit the road.
Cheers,
anton

Sounds like good times. I think your GF is right about the good luck. Only problem is when there's a girl on the boat you'll always get outfished. hammer

Hey Anton!
Good seeing you guys too! I did not know that boat didn't have a FF! At one point the driver hooked on to a HUGE fish. Fought it for a good 10mins only to have it break off at the boat. 30" full bred striper! That day defiantly went down in my book as “TOP 3!”
I don’t mind helping out another fellow fisherman. Everyone played nice that day except for the guy that anchored 5 ft from my marker. confused

Our buoys pretty much set the past for everyone out there. Hoping to do it again this Saturday!

nice report- nice photos- can't wait for some striper=hybrid action this weekend

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Thanks Keith!
Mando was a ex member named XYZ. Dont know what happened to him but when I met him, my boat was showered with free slabs! He was the hybrid Master of LL!

LONG LIVE XYZ!!

Anton,
My hands been itching every hour since our trip! Good to see you were still able to make them bite.
