I had nver tried wacky rigged worms until recently, but now I'm having pretty decent success with them almost jigging them vertically or at slight angles in brush piles and tree laydowns.
The problems with fishing them that way is obviously the hangups due to the exposed hook.
What is the best weedless wacky hook I can buy? I assume it has to be one with the old fashioned weed guard on it.
Will weed guards hurt my fish hook-up percentage?
Thanks for your help.

Another option is the Kicker Fish wacky worm.

Another option where fishing in snags is to reverse T'rig the worm. It puts the hook point in the bait but still gives the subtle fall of the wacky rig.

Check out a hook called Mr Blitz. Lake Fork guide James Caldemeyer turned me on to those a couple years ago.

+1 on the Kicker Fish Wacky Worms! LUV those worms T-rigged with an 1/8 ounce bullet weight pegged. I fish medium to shallow brush with it on REALLY tough fishing days to get that extra bite or 2.

reverse texas rig in the middle of the worm works excellent. Limits4all is right on.
you can throw it right in the middle of junk.

reverse texas rig in the middle of the worm works excellent. Typically, I think of "reverse texas rig" as meaning the weight on the opposite end of the worm. But in a weightless wacky presentation, I assume you mean just taking the hook below the middle body of the worm, and then back up into it, but not exposed on the other side. So if it were a standard "J" shaped hook, the worm would be perpindicular to the hook at the short end of the "J" (hopefully I'm explaining what I'm thinking correctly)??

I wish I had a picture here, but what Im referring to as reverse texas is actually rigging the worm exactly as you would a texas rig, but the initial hook in the worm is right in the middle instead of on the nose.
i will try and post a couple pictures when I get home.

I've been using the K Wacky from Falcon Lures for years in 6/0 3/32
Nasty hooky and the bait fits purfect in the bend so the fish gets hooked in the roof of the mouth on the set almost every time. Once the weed guard gets kabashed the weighted hook is great for fishing rocks. Spendy though 5 something for 4.

You got it and the weighted nose is optional but is also very effective. Reverse T'rigging worms with a flat bottom with the nail in the nose will also help the worm get in real tight to verticle cover becuse the worm tends to try to go down away from you and back under over hanging limbs and such.
