I highly encourage visiting there if you can. It is in Athens Texas and has some great displays as well as natural settings for both fish and native plants and animals.

Not this time but I have in the past. There was a large group of kids there that had never fished before and I had a good time just walking around the lake watching the kids have a blast catching catfish.
I've been told by the staff there that the tank has some really good size catfish but that tank is also full of hungry little one pounders that keep getting caugh over and over just for the free meal. The kids have a blast there.

Visited this place last year, after moving back to Texas and fell in love. What a tremendous facility! Click for a slideshow...

Does your yearly TPWD pass get you in to it or does it not work there?

It was even better when "Splash" was there. I think he weighed 120 pounds and was an eating machine.
None of the other fish in the tank would venture near his head.

nice shots- great place to visit
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
