Anyone been to Texoma over the last couple of days?
I was wondering what the lake level and clarity of the water was like right now?

A buddy of mine and I put in at Highport the other day and never left the marina...Throwing shaky heads in various colors and sizes and caught about 50 up to 5 pounds...It was a blast!

Lake Texoma is a little over a foot high. Source. I fished it Sunday and the water is clearing up really well. Fishing for blacks, sandies and stripers were all good.

we went last saturday and caught spots and blacks in the marinas on weightless stuff, t-rigged speedcraws, and bandit 200 crawfish colored cranks.

caught about 15 up to 3 pounds between 9am and 12.

Saw a lady in Eisenhauer holding up 2 4pound smallies for a pic and she said her and her husband caught them in the first cove on the left coming into the marina.

We struggled with that as well...Then we just backed out a little deeper and started to picked up some better fish.

Fishing on Texoma is on fire right now for just about everything.

The huge shad die-off this winter has just about everything searching for dinner.

Yak trip on Friday was decent, found smaller fish hanging out in shallower water, bigger fish on points with deep water nearby.

As for water clarity, the eastern 1/3 to 1/2 of Texoma had debris floating from the recent very heavy rains upstream, but I didn't notice a whole lot of staining in that eastern end of the lake.

Whatever staining occurred, it's now back to nearly aquarium level clear in that eastern part of the lake. It is unreal how far down you can see now thanks at least in part to the zebras.

Texoma isn't a great big fish lake but you'll always have a lot of fun - especially right now - with plenty of largemouths, good numbers of spots, and a few quality smallmouths mixed in.

10-12 foot...Most of the fish we caught were in 2-6.
