Thanks for all the inputs, very helpful.
It looks like I may have to put this on the back burner for a while, I got laid off last week when the new budget came out. I now have the time to fish but not the $$ :-). Life is weird!! Maybe it is karma to make me and my son get really good at bank fishing ;-).
Give a man a fish, he will eat it and go back to work. Teach a man to fish and he will fish all day.

I got an SE9 Fisherman's Dream package (boat plus motor mount and floorboards) for an astonishing $40 on ebay in Denver and a buddy picked it up until I could get out there to take possession. It was my primary boat for a while, but now I use it when traveling in our little motor home.
My little 5'4" girlfriend could row it with great effectiveness, even in the wind. She's from Michigan, so rowboats are nothing new to her. Me...well, let's just say I was a little less proficient at rowing. A 2.5 hp Suzuki 4 stroke that I got new for $600 shipped powers the boat nicely to about 6 mph.
I like it. Caught plenty of fish in it. Can approach areas very quietly. I often caught fish from areas that had just been pounded by noisy guys in bass boats. A cheap 8xAA battery pack from Radio Shack provided 12 volts for a depth finder and I put the transducer on an Arizona Iced Tea bottle with a big hose clamp. It trailed behind the boat and worked great.
Setup and teardown was not a problem. Bounced and scraped it off all kinds of stuff with no punctures. Two people, 4 rods, a tackle bag, and small cooler fit fine. Customer service from SE was exemplary - I needed some small parts and they sent 'em immediately at no charge.
I find the photo in the catalog of the guy standing up and fly fishing astounding, though. It's not something I'd consider doing. No way. But otherwise, I found it a great product. Best $40 I ever spent. Good luck with your fishing and work matters.

You are welcome. Hang in there with your situation. Hope something turns up real quick for you. Here's another good page from the same blog comparing different small boats with a grid: http://www.bigskyfishing.com/inflatable-boats/compare-kayak-raft.shtmOne thing they didn't include is the comfort factor which is very important when you spend a lot of time in a boat.
