Planning a trip to Falcon in a few weeks. Anyone been down there lately?
I am just concerned with my safety. I have read to stay on the US side but have also read that stuff is happening on our side too.
Any ideas/concerns?

In addition to the Falcon Lake Tackle Falsh Report click the guide link to the left of the Flash Report and go to the guides websites and read there reports. I was there just last Wed to Sun. Everything those reports are saying is true about the fishing especially about rocky or brushy points. Go with a huge supply of Magnum Flukes and Chart spike-it for the tails. Flukes in any watermelon color but prefer ones with some kind metal flake like watermelon blue, magic, or gold flake for some flash but if it is anything like I had color will not matter if the they are still hitting the flukes when you reel them in so fast they are just skipping on the surface. To give you and idea of the quantity of flukes to have Sun morning my partner and I went through 4 bags before 1000 that morning. If we had not been getting off the water to drive home we would have had to go buy out all the Magnum Flukes at Falcon Lake Tackle as we only had 2 left in the boat after all day Sat and Sun mornig. Find a rocky main point, watch for bait fish and bass pinning them in the shallows. Cast to the swirle, a swirle was usually more than one fish, and get ready to cross there eyes. Stay on the US side as there is no need to go to Mexico to find fish.

First off guys, please don't let this thread deteriorate into racist comments or suggestions of violence. It's going to get pulled if you do.
Secondly, we have added the Law Enforcement Bulletin regarding Falcon Lake at the top of both the bass and open freshwater sections.
There have been two and only two CONFIRMED incidents of piracy and those were two weeks ago. I hear a lot of rumors from down there, but the two above are the only ones that have been reported/confirmed. The report of pirates entering Texas waters has not been confirmed. I'm not saying it didn't happen. I'm saying it has not been confirmed and I only deal in known facts.
The fact is, if you choose to go to Falcon lake, do so at your own risk. Heed the advice of law enforcement. This is MY personal position on the matter, not necessarily that of the TFF.
As for the fishing down there, it is off the charts. Charlie Haralson had clients on some great fish this week. One day trip produced two 50+ pound sacks and a 45+ sack. One client caught over 50 pounds by himself in one day. Different clients had 47+ for their best five with Charlie, yesterday.
All of these catches took place on the Texas side of Falcon.
You be the judge as to whether you feel comfortable going down there. I'm certainly not going to tell anyone, otherwise.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

After hearing all posts and reconsidering, You should still take Clint to squaw creek instead of going to Falcon.

I would go to Falcon, then take Clint to Squaw Creek and tell him you will drive the boat around and let him fish because your arms are still sore from reeling in all those monsters down at Falcon. lol
