Anyone know any spots, boat docks, or general area they could point me in for some shad? Went sunset and came up with zero. Are they up by the bank in the mornings?

Any help would be appreciated.

I go the the parks off of navaho and 820 at night or before the sun comes up. I catch shad by the buckets full in front of those reeds. You can also catch them at the boat ramp at the 820 bridge. They move to deep water later in the day so its hard to find them

Let us know how you do, I'm in the same boat as you, can't find any bait to catch.

Don't give up, Lately we have been running dry as well. Our usuall spots that we catch them at by the buckets have been dry. Only caught 10 the other day. I read some where that they are spawning right now, that could be the problem. they will be back.

I would not rule out the possibility of a "Shad Kill" during the cold spell we had in February. I personally saw a thin sheet of ice covering the lake. I think water temps in the mid 40's will kill much of the threadfin shad.

I was on benbrook tues night no shad by the ramps or docks or any usual spots. Anchored up in 20ft water and dropped some lights, shad of all sizes showed up in an hour drop the net on top of them and get 150-200 threadfin and gizzard. Might be the same at Worth just havent made it to the banks yet

That's good to hear. We need lots of threadfin.

ya know i've always wondered if i were to use a submersible light like say 5-10 yards from the bank, would shad gather and i return w/in 5 minutes to throw a net and it would work? or does it only apply to deep water?

Sounds like a good idea, someone needs to try it...I don't have any type of submersible lamps or I would. I'm sure you'd get something near those lights. Personally I don't care if they are Threadfin or any other kind of bait fish as long as I don't have to pay for them.

Baitfish are attracted to light. It will work. Provided they are already in the shallows or near. I have used a latern before. Just wrap some foil halfway around the back of it so all the light hits the water. Set the lantern right at the edge. Sometimes it takes a while but they will show up. Watch out for snakes eeks
