went out and hit the dock at 12am this morning, and found catching shad around the dock to be quite simple. the air was chilly, i could see my breath and steam coming off my fishing lights, and the fish were in a feeding bonanza all last night. my company last night was a large blue herron that took up refuge on the neigbor dock and had a succesful evening himself. i fished with one rod last night, as it was enough to keep me busy itself. In two hours time i landed 11 whites (3 magnums, 1non-slot), and 9 black bass the biggest just a tad over 17", with several 14-15". I left them biting and probably be back tonite, looks like a SuperBowl white feast!

squirrel_nut,
not me. I dont have the boat here in Austin to fish around the lake. just fishing from the marina. i was fishing until about 1am sunday morning. I can hear the tunes from boats very well as they cruise by, usually after the bars shut down in HurstHarbor.
