That hurts. Sounds like something I'd hear from one of my competitive fishing buds though! Congrats. I keep a new disposable camera (still in box) in my boat's glove box JUST for that contingency. Now I just need to find a photo-worthy fish.

3am one summer night on cypress springs.. we contemplated waking up old Emmitt that was the original owner of Tall Tree Marina(when it was a good and actual marina). i decided not to, and let her go right in front of the gas dock smile

I'm not taking another picture of one until I beat my 12 pounder.

Ok. I have, but I'm not posting any until I do.

Yep, been there, done that. Ray Roberts back in the early 90's, first weekend in April. Caught a big ole female bass that measured 26 1/2" long and had a 26 inch girth. She was so full of eggs she looked like she was going to bust. In fact, when we brought her onboard, there were eggs beginning to ooze out. By most calculators I have seen, it would have weighed over 13 lbs. Didn't have a camera with us either (sure didn't have a cell phone capable of taking pictures in those days). I had bought a disposable camera the day before since I had planned on fishing Ray Roberts on Friday, then Lake Fork on Sat but I left it sitting on the counter top at home. There wasn't a marina at that time (or I don't recall one), and we didn't want to risk injuring the fish by placing it in the livewell and haul it into town just to weigh it. So, after making the measurements (I didn't have a tape measure on hand so I just used pieces of string then measured them later), we released her where she was caught.

Cmon thats weak. Your telling me every pic on that camera was more valuable than a photo of your 10lber.

well i can say that i am jealous of your 12 pounder but would still enjoy looking at pics of a 10lb or 11lb fish if you caught them too.

Leaving your camera at home is the best way to increase your chances of catching a trophy bass!!

Yup, didn't get a pix of my 10.6 pb. Thankfully I did get a pix of my previous pb which went 10.5 and a replica mount!

i guess i should give more detail. i cant see worth a darn looking at an LCD display during broad daylight instead of a viewfinder. after i took the picture twice a quick message flashed saying my memory is full. add that to the fact i was literally shaking holding the big bass in one hand and taking a picture with the other. didnt figure out the picture didnt go thru until i got back in the truck looking for it and taking another picture to see what the heck happned. your darn right i deleted all that junk ASAP.

Franchi, that's gotta hurt. Since I am on call for custom orders at all times, I keep my phone with me. It has a very high quality camera on it. Prior to that, I caught lots of good fish with no camera!

Sometimes it takes You by surprise, I got permission to fish a small private lake back before cell phones had camera, small lake so I only took one 6'6" med rod and a couple of baits, expecting a good day of 2 lbers , fourth cast a Hugh bass busted My spinnerbait, five minutes later and wading in knee deep I got my hands on this bass, I ran up to the farm house they had a set of scales the fish was 11.7 lbs but the only camera they had dead batteries, the fish was in trouble by this time ,I wasn't going to kill this fish to get a picture so I ran her back to the water and released her, the next spring there son caught her and had her mounted

Its kinda funny cause I was thinking about fish pictures today. I used to take pictures of 4-5lbers and think they were big but over the last few years as I fish more it takes about 7lber to be picture worthy but sometimes a fat 6 1/2 or so makes the cut...I still take pictures of the big ones though cause I want the memories when I look back when I am old and can't go anymore. I also am still like a kid and get excited about fishing so if I ever lose that feeling I guess I would stop fishing altogether.
