My neighbor friend and I decided to take our chances and go fishing yesterday afternoon around 3pm. There were thunderstorms threatening from the West and heading East, but we thought we might get a couple of hours of fishing in before the weather arrived at Eagle Mountain.
We launched the boat and headed to our first favorite spot. The weather was gorgeous! With a 10 mph north breeze and mostly cloudy to the north and storms to the south, we were sandwiched between the coming weather front. When we got close to our destination, we saw the gulls working...a good sign for sure! We immediately started throwing our slabs. Fish on, first cast! After that it was fast and furious. Fish were chasing the shad everywhere. Gulls were squaking, fighting for their meals. We followed the birds with the trolling motor and proceeded to catch over 80 sandies, varying in size up to to a monster 16 inch doozy! We kept our limit for a big fish fry this weekend. After limiting out in one and a half hours, the first visible bolt of lighting sent us back to the ramp. What a great, perfect couple of hours of fishing! Praise God for His creation!!!

Great day!! banana Nice report cheers. I just got a re-supply of my favorite slabs, "Old Uglys" and I'm hoping to get the weekend off so I can give it another try. This spring hasn't been good for me, the weather or work has kept me off the lake and the last two tries I got I was blown off the lake. bang
