Heading out to choke this thursday just looking for any reports or advice, Been told that the stumps are pretty bad out there we will be staying at the state park. Got 10 gallons of milo souring up and plan on fishing with punch bait. hows the live bait pop here, can you find shad?

If you are just wanting some fillets pick up some Big Marv's at the Store before the State Park. Fish the wind blown points on the lake in shallow water under a cork or on bottom and hold on. The brush there righ now in poking up so you can see it---barely. I would run wide open but 10-20 miles an hour ok if you don't know the lake. If you have GPS get a chip that shows the area's.

There is a little store on the road to the State Park that sales minnows and supplies.

Stop by and see Brian at the general store right outside Caliham. He'll have everything you need. Hit the ramps early in the Am before the green scaled fishermen get there to catch bait and perch. Lake is a little intimidating at first but really not that bad. Fish are both deep and shallow right now on cheesbait and cut bait. Did really well this weekend with 400 fish in three days. I'll be down there again this weekend with trips but can lead ya in the right direction... 830.822.7064 Good Luck Cliff

Good Info all, I'll be leaving Houston in the morning and be on the water around lunch on Thursday for a couple of days. It's been about 3 years since I went last and I won't be able to sleep tonight thinking about it. I'm going with my buddy who lives not too far from Choke and he knows where to go hour by hour. I can taste it already!
I'm going to try that Big Marv's bait and hopefully the Lewis King bait is still sold there outside the park.
