Well my brother flew in last night to visit me down here in Hawaii for a week, so we went out fishing today. WOW what a day we had. We were blessed right from the start with calm calm waters, the north shore of Oahu was almost like a lake today it was so calm! We filled the live well up with bait right from the start, which the guide said was a first in a long time. things were looking good early! Within an hour in a half we had a nice 20lb Mahi, and a nice yellowfin tuna (30lb), plus a couple good ono (wahoo) hits. 45 minutes later, Jason my brother then hooked into a great Ono that went just over 50lbs! The guide said it was on of the top 3 or 4 Ono's he has ever seen on the boat! Another nice Mahi followed, with several more 15-25lb yellowfin. Towards the end of the day we got two doubles, with me loosing a great ono at the boat and jason landing atuna, then the last double came in the last hour with myself landing a 20lb+ tuna and Jason loosing an awesome Mahi Mahi right at the boat, just as he was about to get the gaf! We then put out the lures for the troll home, and the fishing Gods were smiling down on us today as about 15 minutes from the Harbor I landed a GREAT Ono that went about 30lbs! what an amazing ending to a great day shared with my younger brother! This week I have caught 3 new species of fish in the Ono, Mahi Mahi, and the yellowfin tuna! I am really loving this saltwater fishing! Enjoy the pics, should be a great video of this trip up in a week or so! What a Blessed day on the water we had today!! The type of trip I will never forget. If any of yall get the chance to come to Oahu, hawaii, look these guys up for sure! www.Chupu.com The Foxy lady, Captain Dave and his guys are really awesome and know these waters! Even though this was a tirp of a lifetime for me, it was probably just an average day for them!

Good luck MO Thats the only part that sux! I caught a 110 lb Yellow Fin there a few years back on a business trip and wanted to take it back the resort to chow on with my crew.....NOPE!

Must have been some flight! Took you 206 years into the future! Looks like a heck of a trip. I fished out of Lahaina while in Hawaii. Caught a couple aku (skipjack tuna)...essentially the gizzard shad of the Pacific!

Good luck MO I was in Hawaii last year and the captain tried to pull that with me. They take the fish to the market and sell them since the demand for fish on the island exceeds the supply, they get 3, 4, 5, and sometimes 7 dollars a pound whole fish. Anyway, I was in our condo and so we were going to eat the Mahi we caught. I told the guy, this is America and money talks, you buy the fish from me or i am taking them. He put up a struggle, and we ended up taking the big one and giving him the two smaller ones. Custom or not, i paid to fish, i keep the fish. There is no law supporting thier claim.

Depends on the captain. The captain I used said we could keep all that we wanted. Ask them before you go. If they say no, find another captain.
