Heading to Alan Henry this weekend and was wondering if anyone had a report? It been a couple of years since I've been there.

Well, its not what it was back then. Largemouth are much fewer and farther betwee, but the spots can be caught by the dozens.

Right now the spotted bass are pretty good on most of the main lake. Lots of spots are spawning and male largemouth are gaurding fry, so the banks are a decent pattern. Deeper bite is pretty tough right now, and there are only a few fish starting to school.

The water up the river is pretty dirty, but a few solid fish coming from up there. Water temps were 68-75 on Sunday.

Long Winter this year and the temps got lower than I have ever seen them. It seems like as soon as they start to warm up, we get a few cool days or some rain to keep them down. I think it has mixed up a lot of fish.

There are some keepers. There are a lot more 10-16" spots than anything else, but there are some keepers. Like Largemouth there are some techniques that work better for bigger spots than little spots, but overall you chance at a really good spot is either off a bed or off a ledge right now.

I just hope all those little spots dont eat every last largemouth fry that is born this year. I worry that is part of the problem from that last few years.
