The fishing here has been very good this week up through today. We have been getting good limits of fish quickly when the winds have been cooperating. Water temps are up around 71 degrees and the water is nice and clear. We actually had fish following baits up to the top today and that really tells that summer patterns are here. All fish are coming on shiners and shad fished just off the bottom.

Most fish are coming off ledges in the 26 to 42ft depth range. They are getting more active and should continue through the summertime. Once we finally get these pressure changes to quit coming through daily things will settle down. Today was the worst day of the week with absolutely no wind this morning. I had a group of 5 and I was concerned that the fishing would slow down as the sun got on the water. We started out close in the little mineral arm and from 6:15 to 7:15 it was fish on. We caught good box fish with several overs but once the sun came up it got really sloooooooooooow.
We worked our way down to platters area and picked up a few fish here and there but it was tough.

Too top it off, this group of guys started out the morning cutting up and giving each other heck and talking about the antics and good times they had the night before. As the morning drug on they got quiter and quiter and it was mentioned that too much beer, watermelon vodka and cajun food make for a rough midmorning. They fought through it and we had a great time.

nice over from earlier in the week. We had a 2 man limit by 7:15am.

todays catch. good box fish with a few overs.

I have a few weekday morning available as well as some afternoon trips open on weekdays and weekends running from 3pm till dark. Let me know if you would like to come up and get some fishing in. School is almost out and its time to get the kiddos out on the lake. Prices are $75 per person with a 2 person minimum to book. Children 12 and under fish free with a paying adult.

Thank goodness it was calm. If not I might have had a real mess to clean up afterwards.
