it has have been slow for me lately. they seem to be in 8-15ft of water eating deep divers and carolina rigs. not really any good top water action yet. a few dinks here and there on pop-rs.

Went yesturday, was killing the 2 pounders on wacky rigged senkos close to the grass lines in 2 feet, caught a few in 17' on Carolina rig and a few on white spinners, not a single top water hit yet.

Lake Athens is great right now.

The deep bite is really good. We caught around 30 today with some good fish in the mix. All the better fish came on a Black Angel Flippin Jig in the Tyler Special color, alot of fish were caught on deep cranks and c-rigs as well. A trick worm on the c-rig seemed to get the most bites. The main lake points and humps have alot of fish on them most bites came between 25-30ft of water. Early on in the day the topwater bite is really getting good. Good luck, you might also go under the bridge and throw a frog, that could get a giant!

Try throwing a Senko early, then move out deep later in the day.

I've been finding my best fish lately in 15 to 20 ft as well on brush piles off dropoffs.
