Burned on Craigslist. Bought a pontoon boat off of Craigslist from a dealer in Lexington Ok. OK City Area.(Top Line Auto/ Marine ) He run the add stating that the boat was "lake ready and runs good". Drove three hours to look at the pontoon. I told him I wanted to go to the lake and run it, over the phone. When I got there he had his son show it to my wife and me. I should have run when he had trouble starting it the first time. I didn't. I told his son that I wanted to go to the lake and he said he would have to call his dad and he did. Then we started hearing and intermittent alarm beep. His dad assured me that there wasn'nt anything wrong with the boat that it was just the sensor. I should have run, I did'nt. He worked about an hour all together unplugging wires and such trying to figure it out. I should have run. He (CHRIS) kept telling me how for twenty years he was one of the biggest marine dealers and shops in Dallas, and Lewisville, and central Ok. I Should have run. I did'nt. The motor run on a hose at a higher than I would have expected RPM. I should have run, I did'nt. Took the boat without going to the lake because of the 30 - 40 mph winds on last Saturday. Should'nt have. Took the boat to my sponsor marine to get it checked out before heading to the lake next week. $1000 later I get it back. Three broken intake bolts. Had to remove old bolts and rethread two holes. Replace the water pump impeller( which he said he had replaced. Starter was loose and had a broken bolt. Had water in gas tank. Would not run under load. The had the timing advanced so high just so it would run. Oil Injection system was bad had to be replaced. Called the seller but no returned call. Left message. still no call. Went throuh all this to say I'm stupied and he's a liar and a cheat. Lied from the start.
Don't trust anyone at Top Line Auto Marine in Lexington Ok and a guy name Chris. They screw me from the start, All I got wash kissed. Sorry it so long but this is truly only the half of it.

Man, sounds like you got a bum deal. I have always been cautious when looking at craigslist, as there seems to be no recourse for bogus sellers like on e-bay.

When buying a used boat, if it does not feel right, run, don't walk. Seems like there were plenty of indicators here. Never fall in love with a boat before you guy it. Regardless of the price or the deal, there will be another one just as good tomorrow and the next day.

Sorry you got a bum deal. But it would seem you were a "get me done". After your drive you were ready to buy NO matter what. My god man.. You should have run away after the 1st thing wrong. not the 5th..One reason I won't look at things that are not local.
