Just joined forum. Just started fishing JP in April. Long time Black Bass fisher, but friend suggested Whites to keep kids' interest. Daughter & I caught 10 this morning. 8 keepers 10 inch to 12 3/4 inch on shad colored rattle trap and shad colored BassAssassins with jig head. Nice meetin' you this morning Hal & thanks for the info on slabs.

report for 5/15, well wanted to start off by saying nice meeting all of you guys for lunch at the Oasis. Today's fishing was rough once again, I was all over the Walnut Creek arm from the heli-pad to firemans the bridge and marina area I had to struggle to catch three all were right around 10'' fish nothing to write home about that is for sure. The sun started to come out around 3pm but I did not notice a difference in the bite, I was on the water from about noon until roughly 4pm. The fish were schooling real good right after lunch in front of the bridge but I could not get them to bite for anything here is a list of lures that I tried that did not work: small white plastic grub on a white jig-head, small 2'' white rattle trap, black back and chrome top water popper, white tailspinner, chartreuse TNT slab, and a chartreuse road-runner. So needless to say I was quite frustrated because most of the time it does not matter what you throw in the school they will tear it up, it must have been one of those days . Well I hope you guys have or had better luck than me, see you on the water.

Gonz, Surge, and John, great meeting you guys today. The sandies had a bad case of Joe Pool lock jaw. I also met Seth Mitchell out there today, he was fishing with shad and caught a few when they wouldnt even take, well, the SLAB!

Amazing how nice it was out there today. I went for crappie after I gave up on the SB. 5 out of 22 were over 10 but I released them for another day.

Thats hilarious hal. It was good to meet you too. My report for today was live shad on firemans this morning. It was great fishing until i ran out of shad,all sand bass where 12inchers hal was there with a slab and nothing for him. After that it shut down until i left at two.

Oh ya, welcome Texas AMC 90. I was proud to give you your first slab, a TNT 180, my personal fave and to tell you about this awesome forum. Your a lucky Dad to have a daughter that loves to fish like that.

I admit it Bubba, you and Landon were doing pretty good and I got like two taps all morning. It doesnt matter, I usually have a trip on Saturday this time of year but getting out and fishing with some good TFFers was awesome.

I think me and JPW may go out in my boat manana.

It was nice to meet you guys today for some lunch. Going to take the family out Sunday morning to try and catch some fish. We'll see how it goes. Be on the lake @ 8:30 am

I took the boys out this afternoon after their ballgames. Got on the water at around 5 and fished all over the place. Not even a bite. We stayed till after dark which the boys thought was cool! I may take them again tomorrow. I know I found dogs ear point. I'm still not sure where firemans is though.

LOL@ the boat race. I guess the crazy Texas weather threw off the bite.
