I was thinking about going down to Lake Bardwell one afternoon this week. Has anyone done any good in the past week or 2 out there?

Went to bardwell this morning, caught 14 keepers over 12 inches and 2 3lb. channel cats trolling. All caught near the dam. Weather was horible today, almost got caught out. Good luck

Thanks for the report. Did you see any surface action?

The wind was blowing out of the north this morning pretty hard, made it tough to see if there was. While trolling several times I spotted surface action but very little.

Havent been to Bardwell in quite a while but I can remember some awesome trips there when it was so hot no one else wanted to be on the water. Acres and acres of schooling sandies all summer long.....

Its been a while since I read it but they supposedly had stocked some striper there in the last few years. Dont know about hybrids but am sure the lake would support them (or maybe I have that backwards). It is a little known gem, with relatively little traffic in my opinion.

Have had some great times at the marina late at night this time of year throwing rooster tails under the lights.... Actually the marina is good all year long just about...

Good crappie there too. In the heat of the day work the bridge from piling to piling you would be surprised.

If you like night fishing about midway along the dam.... roughly 150-200' out, there is a very subtle drop..... set up the lights break out the beer, watch out for the bats and hang on.....

Its good to here people on this board talk about Bardwell..... I hope it keeps up! Great lake! Its just a little small......

Good luck there and keep us posted.
