Does any one have any reports about EM or Grapevine? Looking for some sand bass action. Taken a out of towner out and show him a couple of our lakes. And catch plenty of fish to.

Lance, you must have a secret spot out at the vine because I went out there Saturday afternoon and it was dead. Tried all my usual places; murall, island, bubbles, north shore and nothing. Well we did catch one lone sandie at the bubbles but that was only because I didn't want to get skunked so tossed the net in there and used live bait. I noticed at teh bubbles there were no good concentrations of shad either. Just a few stragglers right at the surface. On a positive note, the jetfleas were not there in big numbers so still made for a nice day on the lake. I just can't seem to find the sandies this year. Last year by this time, they were well into their warm weather pattern. Anyone had any luck finding them in numbers at the vine?

The bubbles have been turned back on? I haven't been on the vine since late march/early april and they were still off then.

Oldrock, no secret spots just using the graph to find them. The fish have been moving fast and it's hard to stay on them at the vine. Has been unusually slow for this time of year.

The bubbles have been off every time I've been out there and gone to that area of the lake.

thanks lance and that makes me feel better as I usually do pretty well on the vine sandies but my usual spots are all a bust so far this year. Re bubbles, I was out there saturday and this morning and they were bubbling both times. Not much in the way of action on the bubbles though. Bait is mostly very large shad so I am guessing maybe that is why the sandies aren't holding as well in the area yet. Water was really choppy today and we only managed to catch a few scattered around island. I also checked murall which was dead and no birds to be found on the lake so we knocked off early today. Going to try to get back out tomorrow if winds are better and really try to find em.

oh I forgot to mention some guys in an airboat with a custom baitwell were really putting a beating on what little shad were around the bubbles area today. Throwing a 15 or 20' castnet and taking every shad they could find. No fishing, just filling up the boat with bait. DOn't know what was up with that but I sure hope they don't plan to do that very often as it can't help the fishing in that area if they continue to strip all the shad out of there.
