Jacky,if you have a hard time finding fish this weekend and are taking your boat try trolling some 1/8oz sassy shad or very small crank baits. I had good luck last weekend trolling when fishing the holes got slow. Watch for stumps & concrete around the 377 bridge.

FYI, if you are not taking your boat, the traffic up here is awful thanks to the nascar race. I live in flower mound and it is taking quite a long time just to get home. I know the weather is not going to cooperate this weekend but does anybody know what this will do to the fishing? Any suggestions?

I have never fished in Denton Creek. I would appreciate any general description on the Denton Creek. I will come from Plano and Lewisville. Which route should I come? Where do I park my car for bank fishing? After parking, go north or south (how far) to start fishing? Is it just sandbass only? More importanly ANY crappie KEEPERS? The past posts have mentioned many places - Are they spceial? -- Henrietta Hole, the Pools. Finally, are lures good? Any prference of what kind of artificial lures? If you prefer to use minnow, where do you buy minnow?
I know they are a tone of questions. As I don't have too much time I can fish, I deeply thank you.

Hit the creek Saturday from 7-2 and also hit about every log between 377 and Henrietta. It is a absolute whip to make it by boat that far up the creek. Did catch about 7 in the hole all on shad colored 3 inch mister twister with a 1/8 ounce weedless tube jig head from bass pro. Caught 4 more on the way back toward 377 and it seemed they were a little bigger. Sorry to report no eggs when I cleaned them. Had good luck with the crappie on the way back. Towed a guy back that went to the first shallow on the way to henrietta in a inflatable boat with a trolloing motor and his battery went dead just at 377 on the way back to Marshall creek. That 4 mile paddle probably would have killed him with the 25 mile wind in his face. I don't recommend anybody else try that. He did have a good day with the fish and had a nice stringer of about 15 big fish. Even the game warden was impressed. The point is they are on the way back to the lake or at least the bite was better that way. If your interested in the crappie see my post in the crappie section (Lake Grapevine). Good luck to you guys and let us know what kind of luck you had this weekend.

Here is a link to another post that has some excellent maps of the area. http://www.texasfishingforum.com/.ubb/Forum4/HTML/002582.html
I tried Henrietta Hole again on Saturday from about 10:00 to 1:00 and did not have much luck. I did see some people that had caught a few on a slugo. I did walk upstream in Henrietta Creek and came a cross an rea just before the log jam that was holding fish. The water was very clear and only about 4 feet deep. I could actually see the fish, I must have tried for 20 - 30 minutes to catch them. I was only able to manage to get the smallest of the bunch to give me the slightest strike. I was throwing a white RoadRunner, I threw it up stream and let it float back down, I tried slow retrieves, fast retrieves, I tried to work it like a jig, and at some point I even just tried to snag them because they had frustrated me so much. Any body have any suggestions for the next time this might happen?
