First, I want to thank JD Lyle for helping me out a little in the tackle department. It was nice to meet you and your tips and the slabs you picked up for me really paid off. I fished the afternoon shift friday til the afternoon shift sunday. I mostly fished the birds and took part in a few boat shows. I had a relatively easy time catching limits of box fish each day, but the overs were few and far between for me. All fish were caught on slabs and sassy's. On sunday morning, i finally decided to find a rocky shore and start throwing top waters. It was one of the most fun times I have ever had fishing. I could only connect on two (both were overs) but had a few strikes. Overall, it was a productive weekend and I'm already looking foward to making my way up there again soon.

I noticed jdlyle is out of Pottsborro. I'm supposed to stay @ Tanglewood on 11/18 &11/19. I was thinking about pulling my boat up there. I have never fished Texoma. Where should I start looking for fish if I leave out of Pottsborro ? Is that where you leave out, or do you drive to put in elsewhere ? I have plenty of slabs & sassy's from fishing RC & Tawakoni down here in my neck of the woods. Just thought I should ask a local before getting on a lake that size. Any area I need to stay away from. I will get a map before heading that way.

I was thinking about going this weekend and had the same question. I was debating morning or afternoon. I plan to put in at Loe's and thought about heading to the north side of the islands. Any info on locations would be appreciated.

We caught 30 to 40 small fish (1/2 to 3lbs)between 3 guys on Saturday - it was kind of a let down after doing so well the weekend before. The wind was brutal again!

BlackSheep, if you are at Tanglewood, you are right where you need to launch. Highport Marina is the marina directly below Tanglewood, and when you come out of that bay, you are looking right at the islands. Turn left, turn right, or go across to the islands. It should all be good this time of year.
The birds are back, and you can often just let them be your guide.
