To reduce the ratio on your existing reel,just underfill the spool. Think about it. It reduces the amount of line recovery per revolution. Just don't put so little line on the reel that you launch your favorite plug into the stratosphere.

I use Pflueger Patriarchs 6.3 :1. I wish they made it in a slower model since I tend to wind to fast sometimes as well, but I love their reels. BTW you will LOVE those G loomis crankin rods!

I have two reels/rods I use for cranking. One is a Kistler Composite rod with a BPS David Fritts reel at 4.7:1 for slower retrieves. The other is a Falcon Cara crankbait rod with a Shimano Curado 200B Super Free at 6.2:1 for faster trips back to the boat.




I've never killed anyone, but I've read several obituaries with great enjoyment.
