 Anybody catching at the Benbrook Spillway?

I'm thinking about trying a spillway tomorrow night. Has any tried benbrook or know of a good spillway close to dfw? I'm thinking about fishing for stripes "of any kind" and cats

I have caught hybrids and sandies at the pump station. This is located at the northeast side of the lake and is accessible via Longhorn Park.

I have caught hybrids and sandies at the pump station. This is located at the northeast side of the lake and is accessible via Longhorn Park. The pump station is on the main lake correct? Are you fishing off the bank at the pump station? I have fished it before in my boat and have done well. But i'm afraid the winds will not let me take it out. I have only tried the spillway twice and i got skunked twice. Have you had any luck from there?

Haven't tried the spillway this year. Yes I have actually been wading near the pump station. How do you get to the spillway since the gates are locked. Do you park at the gates and walk in. I'm thinking about taking my boat there on Friday if it doesn't rain.
