Thinking about going to the 99 bridge for whites on Saturday night. Are the whites there?

Thanks for the update. That is what I figured. I was going to be in that neck of the woods and thought I would just drop by.

I'm headed there tomorrow. I've heard good reports from our guides.

What is everyone using for bait? Minnows from the store or cast net shad somewhere?

I went down there today and it was miserable very cool and rainy. Fished from the 99 bridge up to where the San Miguel and Frio joint only saw a few fish caught. We caught a total of 10 fish with 4 in the 16in range. Best action was on KT gold Spoons and Gay Blades. I'll give it another try next week.

hafa,
Were you tied up off the main channel and jigging the spoons and blades? Thanks in advance--a trip on Sunday may be in order.

Last year when the lake came up so high it was tough fishing. The only time we found a large concentration was on bright sunshine days along the channel edge in the thick trees and shallow humps and bars. There is just so much water that those fish can be anywhere. Usually if you can locate a large concentration of baitfish the whites will be in and around that concentration. Don't overlook the adjacent flats.
Going to be among the throng myself.

I fished Thursday night into Friday morning. The bite was slow but we caught 32 white bass. The majority of the fish were caught around 2:30 AM.
Bewareof the cold front that is supposed to hit Saturday night. Be sure to take plenty of warm water repellant clothes.

Left this morning and couldn't decide until about halfway down on where to go. 99 bridge at Choke or the Nueces. Chose the Nueces. Fished till about noon and me and my fishing partner both caught our limit. They weren't all that big at 11 to 12 inch average. Probably threw back 20 that were too small. All on white roadrunners drug behind the boat. Good day since we caught fish all morning until we limited out and decided to leave.
