Seems to me that a LOT of topwaters work well, because small ponds are not going to be real deep.

And they are full of moss usually.

If you're talking about bass - chart. pepper Zoom Salty Centipede weightless with 1/0 offset hook. Fish it like a Senko and hold on. Of course always have a Texas rigged worm or Baby Brushhog on another rod. Other than that - any lure that works on a lake.

Since discovering some good honey-holes and since my boat is in the shop, I am fishing ponds a lot more this year. I have tried to stay with a worm either Texas rigged or on a drop shot rig just to get my confidence up on 'em - Zoom Curly Tail in Motoroil color does the best for me, sometimes a watermelon (feel that tap, tap, tap and watch the line!). I will sometimes even through a Fluke Jr. on the drop shot rig in Watermelon green or white / ICE color.

Since the hydrilla and pond scum has gotten thick I am now throwing a Stanley Rabbit Frog in green and black. Get 'em at Academy. Gotta love that top water!

VERY TRUE

I think the buzzbaits work well for me because I can walk around the pond and run it along all the shoreline

fluke- weightless early mid day- on a weighted hook

Senko- tx. rigged- dropshot or wacky

Cloudy is best- and throw a topwater in those situations....
