Fished Clear Lake yesterday out of the buster, was stained and cold in the drizzle but found about 8 bass between 1 and 5pm. Most were smaller they hit Christmas Tree Tiki's in 1 to 4feet best spots were the banks on the main lake before you enter the timber, didn't get any bites past the trees. Did catch one decent 3lber on the road that goes down into the water.

Rhodes was tough on Saturday, but we didn't get on the water until about 11am. Wind was horrible, but cloudy so I had high hopes. The lake is WAY up, couldn't believe the water came all the way up to the little turn around and was very clear. The coontail is everywhere. I thought for sure we'd get a good Tiki or fluke bite over that stuff, but didn't get a bite for like an hour and that was throwing up super shallow on the little point to the left as you go back into the creek. Wound up with I think five or six when we left at 4pm. All were pretty shallow, and small. The new water may have them really scattered or we'd just hit it at the wrong time. As good as it is looking things should improve.

Any new reports?
Was thinking of trying to hit it one afternoon/evening this week.

The difference between winners and losers:
Winners blame themselves for their failures and strive to get better.
Losers blame everybody else and give up.

Maybe your right but Lake Fork has been pounded hard everyday since it opened and the fishing is still excellent!

I think the locals do just as much damage by taking fish home and eating them from these lakes anyways. I don't think you are going to have hundreds of people flock to a little 18 acre pond to catch 1/2 lb bass. Yea someone is going to go fish the lake after reading the thread but in a few weeks the post will be long gone. The lakes have plenty of fish and besides, not everyone is a good fisherman. On this particular day there were 6 kayakers, and 3 guys fishing out of a boat on clear lake. My dad and I plus 2 of the other kayakers were the only ones catching fish.

On another note, why go to such a small lake and catch small fish if you have a boat? I know I wouldn't. Every weekend I would go to a large lake and try to catch some quality bass.

As for advertising; I won't be posting any more grasslands reports for a while. Ive fished there the past two weekends and I'm all ready tired of the place. It's time for a new lake to learn!
