Fished the Clear Creek North docks at night on Friday late into the Saturday wee hours. Didn't pick up until late around 2AM. The fish are moving to the docks that are closer to the main lake. It was a sand bass fest. Not a single Hybrid or greeny. Some fat sandies made it fun. Saturday we fished the PM shift starting at the Rock pile and Iron Wall. Caught a few Sandies but then saw a Herron dancing across the wall and decided to move in close to the edge just in time to see him go in for a huge shad. We both threw RT's and both pulled out nice Hybrids about 20" and 22". These came out of 3' of water against the steel retaining wall. The Heron was irritated at us for horning in on his territory and I am sure we are the subject of a derogatory post in a bird website somewhere. We headed south to the A frame but the water was rough and we decided to head to Pitts point. A small boat show was forming off Crappie Island and a single boat lingered at the dam. After a short beating we arrived at Pitts where a single Mako was holding on a brushpile at dusk. At first I thought it might be George but we didn't get close enough to tell. I could tell he was lighting up the sandies. We threw RT's at the Pitt's wall and caught a few. Then I broke out my 1oz rooster in white and started catching. My buddy went with a blue fox. We caught a lot of fish in about 30 minutes. We checked the brushpile after the Mako moved out and caught more. At times a fish on every cast. We were not slabbing or using Sassys but I think that would have also produced. We were trying to find some larger fish. Caught a few nice ones and had fun. Did not run into any of the usual suspects. All fish went back to their families to celebrate Mother's Day.

Kevin,
I fished earlier in the afternoon and it was one sand bass after another with a few hybrids mixed in.
Left by 4 PM in order to make a Mother's Day dinner in Athens.

Very Nice Kevin. We did some night fishing at a DFW lake on Friday and caught well over 150 Sandies. We did manage 4 undersized hybrids. All the Hybrids must have been celebrating mothers day the entire weekend. LOL

[Rock pile and Iron Wall? Which part of the lake? Cant find it on the map.] Those are "secret" locations. The guides can't afford to give away all their good spots (I don't blame them). Billy Seaman showed me the Rock Pile last year but I'm sworn to secrecy!!!
