I work at academy and I noticed that ALOT of ppl are buying baby brushhogs. What's your opinion on color, hook, and time of day to tie one on?

Spring time Watermelon Red or Green Pumkin on a Carolina Rig; or a light texas rig if bed fishing...
In the summer I sometimes will mix in Junebug (I think this is the purple/black color your talking about)
It has worked for me; but opinions are like buttholes...everyone's got one!

I fish the large Brush hos weightless. And the baby BH with a 4/0 to add a little weight.
Pitch them around buck brush and standing timber docks. Just free line them If they don't hit it on the fall reel it in and pitch it again. It's slow fishing but very productive!
Just Fish!

Watermelon red or green pumpkin with a 3/0 hook. It is a very versatile bait, you can tx rig, c rig, shakey head, jig trailer, etc. And it works all year.

Black/Red, weightless, fished very slow has worked for me in lower light situations. A top five bait for me.

I have had good luck with the Watermelon Candy ones, especially on EM and in Arkansas on Greers Ferry and Quachita.

A lot of times when I'm getting bit on the watermelon/red, the watermelon candy/red will outperform if I try it.
