Buddy was one of the lucky few that got to fish the lake today and altough he didn't hear of any giants he did catch 22 fish with 90 percent of them being over 5lbs.. Largest being 6.6..He said someone even caught a 30lb yellowcat on a powerworm.. With numerous people catching cats on bass lures..Although I'm in no rush to get on the lake it surely has my attention..I just can't rap my mind around the 30 dollar launch fee that they are going to empose when the lake opens..

It's not quite open to the public. However, I got to fish it today... they put togehter a nice tournament. This was my first trip to the lake and all I can say is... Unreal. A ton of great structure to fish and everything we caught was solid and healthy. We had about a 25 pound bag at end of day, and that is due to bad winds blowing us off some key spots producing good fish. I wouldn't be suprised if future tournaments brought in 30 to 35 pounds. The place is definitely worth it. There were several fish over 5 weighed, and a lot of solid 4's. Again, the wind made main lake pretty much unfishable most of the day.

Good stuff and a great day with a ton of fish!!!

When do the mere mortals get to fish the lake?

My dad and his partner caught over 100 in one little spot today.(including catfish) Me and my wife did very well also. We had a good day till the last 10 minutes, trolling motor took a dump picked up headed for the ramp hit a stump spun the prop and bent the shaft on my lower unit. Thank God for good boat insurance.
