Is the diffrence in the 2 lenses that much to spend the extra money on?

yes......just went from a 400 to the 580 lens...cause I broke the lens on my 400s.
got the green mirror 580s and its a world of difference!!

yeah, same here switched to 580 last year and love tehm, and buy them on ebay or something, can save a ton!

Had a pair of 580 man-of-wars up until a few hours ago they flew off my shirt on the way to the ramp... but I will definitly be buying another pair this week and I wouldnt buy anything else, I've had these glasses for about 4 years and they are the best for sure... cant go wrong with 580 over 400 though

I dont think there is that much difference. If you have the money go ahead and get the 580s. I tried all 3 (PC, 400, 580) before I bought them outside at Bass Pro in Pearland, in their ponds outside and could tell a huge diff between PC and 400 but not much between 400 and 580. IDK if the 580s have this problem, but on my 400 fathoms, the polarization started separating on the corners after about 6 months. They have since been repaired w/ warranty, though. Just a little inconvinient.
