I'm having trouble finding a fishing cabin (just the wife and I), preferably w/boat slip and option to rent a small (14' or more) fishing boat for a week. Anyone know who I can call?

I'm looking around the surfside area and north along the coast.

Look up,

Beach Resort Services
http://www.beachresortservices.com

Coastal Sisters
http://www.coastalsisterstx.com/

Beach House Associates
http://txbeachhouse.com

Not so sure about the boat part, but they do have houses that are on the inter-coastal that have boat slips.

If you want a really cool place to go, try Arroyo City.

So does anyone know where to rent any of the isolated stilt houses on Texas bays? I've seen them in several bays, but never found any rental info on them. There are floating "cabins" available for rent, but I'm talking about ones built on land with piers.

Surely there are not that many GLO permit cabins out there?

Those are privately owned, and have never seen one for rent. Most of the guys that own those don't need or want your money.

You are correct there aren't many permits, and they aren't giving any more out.

I'm specifically talking about the cabins on the IC from land cut to Port Isabel.

My family has been lucky enough to own one for over 20 years now. I've been going since I was about 5 and now I get to take my own son. You are right WE don't rent ours but will gladly host visitors wink

Ours is between Port Isabel and Port Mansfield just north of the Arroyo

That is way too cool Bert...One of my really good friends owns one of those shacks, I think third one down from yours, a truly fun experience with the kids catching fish under the lights until they can't catch any more...

If anyone *ever* has the chance to spend a weekend on one of those cabins, whatever it takes, do it...
