Jole..i get what u mean..and generally speaking most of us shooters are pretty careful around someones dock, mosty being the key phrase here...when fishing the slip on a dick if it has a boat in it..alot of times ill just flip in rather than shoot, or skip it in under...lets face it if the baot is on a lift do we need to shoot it..or can we probably just flip it into the same area of the slip...or skip it under the deck w out bouncing your jig off the boat...now i am guilty off puttin a little jighead paint on a dock header or 2 in my day..but thats usually gone by the time i leave as its just dry paint chips or flakes..never once caused 1 bit of damage to a dock or any boat attatched to it, so i just cant see how a guy could manage to hit a boat hard enough to chip gel w a 1/16 jig..a man that is capable of such damage should practice in the drive way a bit.
Lmao...

I second that!!! I don't think anybody else picked up on that!

Why in the world would you need to shoot jigs anyway! I have caught many post-spawners and have flipped a jig or tight-lined near the poles and wore them out. The LBJ report from fishincoach is a great example of that. They caught 42 in 2.5 hours last night and 84 last Friday and never shot a figgin jig. Maybe some people just need to learn how to fish huh? Hope you problem gets better and don't get a bad opinion of us die hard slabbers................Shark

There have been several threads on here about treating people with respect - a boater coming right up to where a bank fisherman is and essentially cutting him off. People trashing the shoreline and landowner's property. The list goes on.

People need to remember that fishing is a privilege, not a right. If by your actions, you are in any way harming the environment, another person's property, or impacting their ability to enjoy the sport, then you need to change your thinking and do something different.

If you can't put your lure exactly where you're aiming then maybe, just maybe you need to back and practice more - or hey, here's an idea - don't shoot a dock right next to someone else's boat! bang

I'd be pretty ticked off TxJole if it were me.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting on the water looking like a darn fool.

Unfortunitely.....too many people are just lurking the sites, waiting for information. There are tons of great folks on all of the sites. It only takes one rude, discourteous person to give alot of fisherman a "stereotype". I post very little about where and how many anymore. I've had boats come around and say, "Hey Beltonbanger, what you fishing?" and proceed to motor right up to my marker and check it out on their graph.
The fishing forums are really enjoyable and can contain a wealth of information, especially for the novice. BUT they can become a source for "the other guy" who is far less courteous. Hey.....there is always somebody around to screw things up whether it is fishing, hunting, shopping or just driving. We, as "sportsmen and sportswomen", need to do everything we can to make things right. Enjoy the sport!!!

You know what a Freudian slip is? That's when you say one thing, but you mean your mother!

What part of "uphold the constitution" don't they understand?

Yea, I picked it up too, as I am sure others did too, but just let it go as the typo it is. laugh I too am very careful when shooting docks, we all should be respectful of everyone's property.
