Fished Mahon Park off of 34th and Chicago this past weekend and the carp were hitting like crazy on corn. I started with two poles in the water but they kept hitting so fast I had to reel one in. Nothing really BIG but it was tons of fun catching them.

That lake behind fazolis is one of the better playa's in lbk for sure. My dad caught a 4lbder outa there a few years ago on a tiny rattle trap. Had some evenings where we caught 10 bass in a few hours.

Small shallow lakes (ponds) that often dry up in the late summer and fill up when the rains come. Its a flat dry country thing. Similar to what they call ponds or tanks in the rest of Texas.

Playa Lakes are usually used for watering the grass around the parks they are at and to keep annoying Canada Geese and ducks around so that traffic has to slow down.

I caught a 3 pounder today at the one off loop between quaker and indiana! The only one I caught but it was a nice one.

I hit Mahon again today and apparently it's been freshly stocked with Crappie. My little girl and I must have caught 6 or 7 of the little suckers about two foot off the bank. Then something big jumped on and snapped my line.

I went to Maxey Park the other day and caught about 10 crappie. All of them were about two inches short of the frying pan. Never thought the playas would have crappie in them.
